Software and Integration as the Core of Energy Management

Overarching EMS

Energy management is not a hardware problem. It is a software and integration problem. Anyone running PV systems, battery storage, wallboxes and heat pumps often has equipment from different manufacturers in place. Each of them optimises itself – but does not necessarily know about the others.

The result: systems compete for energy instead of cooperating. At enmacs we believe that an effective EMS is primarily a question of architecture: how do you get different data sources, protocols and devices to act as a single system?

That is exactly the kind of overarching EMS we built together with KIS Antriebstechnik GmbH & Co. KG – and won the dena Energy Efficiency Award for it last year. The first step is always integration. And only then can optimisation begin.
